White Stallion Ranch, nestled in the heart of the Sonoran Desert, has been welcoming guests for over 80 years. What began as a working cattle ranch in 1936 became a guest ranch in 1965, growing into a beloved family-run destination known for its authentic Western spirit. With original adobe buildings, vintage charm, and stunning desert landscapes, the ranch offers a place to disconnect from the modern world and reconnect with nature, tradition, and a simpler way of life—just as it has for generations.

60 Years with the True Family

A Legacy of Stewardship & Service

White Stallion Ranch began its journey as a guest ranch in the 1940s, with Max Zimmerman adding guest accommodations in 1945—marking the start of an 80-year tradition of Western hospitality. Since then, the ranch has grown into one of Tucson’s premier destinations, known for its warm, welcoming atmosphere and authentic Western charm. While the adobe buildings, desert trail rides, and sense of community remain central to the experience, the ranch has thoughtfully evolved to include modern comforts without losing sight of its roots. Today, White Stallion Ranch continues to offer unforgettable stays in the heart of the Sonoran Desert, where history, hospitality, and adventure come together.

80 Years

A Tradition of Warm Hospitality

For over 60 years, the True family has poured their heart into White Stallion Ranch, beginning in 1965 when Allen and Cynthia True moved from Colorado to build a life rooted in Western tradition. Their sons, Russell and Michael, grew up immersed in ranch life, learning the values of hard work, hospitality, and stewardship. Today, Russell continues to lead the ranch with those same principles, now joined by his own daughter—the third generation to form a bond with the land. While the ranch has evolved over the decades, its spirit remains unchanged. When you visit White Stallion Ranch, you’re not just a guest—you’re part of a family legacy built on warmth, adventure, and genuine Western hospitality.

125 Years

The Heart of the Land

Before becoming a renowned guest ranch, White Stallion Ranch was a working cattle operation—a tradition dating back over 110 years. Originally homesteaded by David Young in the late 1930s, the land saw its first deeded owner, Herbert Bruning, introduce cattle and poultry ranching. Though the ranch changed hands over the years, its agricultural roots remained strong. When the True family took over in 1965, they expanded the ranch from 200 to 3,000 acres, building it into what it is today—home to one of the largest privately owned herds of horses and cattle in Arizona. Still a working ranch, White Stallion honors its heritage with sustainable practices and a deep respect for the land, sharing its living history with guests from around the world.
